For a couple of months now my Dell Inspiron 8600c has been my workhorse of choice. I still miss the trusty old Medion MD6200, but the 8600c is really mucho cooler (litterly!). Ubuntu has been running flawlessly on this laptop too. Some specs:

I noticed a considerable drop in my maximum download speed after connecting my trusty old 2200E directly to the ADSL modem. It turns out the Vigor 2200E can’t handle WAN speeds higher than 6MBit as the internal processor is too slow. Time for a new one I guess. In the meantime I’ve switched back to [...]
